Dr. Vibeke Libby is a distinguished Principal Scientist, Program Director, Professor, and Consultant with more than 25 years of success in aerospace, RF security, and robotics. Leveraging extensive experience in system engineering, research and development, she is a valuable asset for companies that are looking for strategic planning, business development, and investor relations. Her broad areas of expertise include dynamic resource allocation, concepts of operations, performance optimization, patent protection, international business, acquisitions, technology planning and transfer, government relations and commercial business.
Throughout her executive career, Vibeke has held leadership positions at Raytheon (Sr. Scientist); Dalmo Victor (Chief Scientist); Lockheed Martin (Dep. Chief Scientist, Sr. Manager, Principal Scientist); Stanford Research Institute (Director); U.S. Government (Distinguished Visiting Professor); Northrop Grumman (Sr. Program Manager) and AgileMath (Founder and CEO). At Lockheed Martin, she was responsible for the proposal and subsequent successful development of a significant sensor and cryogenics program.
As Deputy Chief Scientist at Lockheed Martin, she was on the patent review board, performed technology transition planning and recommended company acquisitions. As program manager at Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman she has lead large teams of software, electro-optic, electronics, fiber optics and RF engineers from system development to successful deployment and new programs wins. Consequently, she conducted high-level customer presentations that included status on all engineering activities and kept the programs funded.
Vibeke earned a M.S in Physical Chemistry, and a Ph.D in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from University of Copenhagen. As a recognized scientist, she has served on boards and advisory councils with Envision Robotics, AgileMath, San Francisco State University, California State University System and the University of Austin Texas. Vibeke has 12 patents granted and 3 pending. She was SPIE Program Chair for 6 years “Signal Processing, Sensor Fusion and Target Classification”; and Chair of 2 Lockheed Martin Corporate Task Forces – Avionics and Electronics. She also founded and executed the Lockheed Martin outreach program to the University of California top students.
Prior to entering the US, she participated in the development of asbestos-free brake pads and roofing tiles for the Danish inventor Karl Kroyer.
Vibeke is fluent in English and Danish.
